Modeling Strategies for Crude Oil-Induced Fouling in Heat Exchangers: A Review

چکیده

Semi-empirical fouling models have proven more effective in predicting the behavior of crude oils heat exchangers. These aided refineries optimizing operating conditions to minimize or eliminate preheat Despite their complexity, continue improve approximating real by taking into account previously neglected aspects. This paper summarizes these findings from various studies along with highlighting different factors which were considered enhance predictability models. A critical analysis is presented emphasize that activation energy deposition term varies depending on physical processes involved and may not conform precise definition energy. Two primary modeling approaches for oil emerged, i.e., deterministic threshold Threshold gained attention due fewer adjustable parameters. The stability compatibility has a substantial impact asphaltene deposition, major contributor fouling. However, incorporating this factor received little attention. inclusion parameters inorganic fraction ageing increased accurately estimating thickness. use CFD analyze mechanisms promising, particularly complex geometries. dynamic moving boundary approach potential broaden applicability

A Review on Crude Oil Fouling and Mitigation Methods in Pre-heat Trains of Iranian Oil Refineries

Crude oil fouling of the equipment surfaces is a troublesome issue which leads to operating difficulties, economic penalties, increased environmental impacts, and health and safety hazards in petroleum industry. With a rough estimation, a minimum cost of equal to 4 million barrels of oil/year is required to be invested to offset the costs of crude oil fouling in Pre-heat Trains of Iranian oil r...

Safety and Inspection for Preventing Fouling in Oil Exchangers

One of the most costly problems in the maintenance of heat exchangers is de-fouling, which results in a waste of time and money. The present study includes two parts: the first section addresses fouling factor, its disadvantages, and circumstance of formation, fouling types, and general models of the fouling. In the second part, the problem of fouling in oil exchanger and particular type of fou...
